The arrival of Olivia Paige Tolar

Well I am finally getting around to making this blog. I have been saying I was going to make one since before I had Olivia and now she is 5 weeeks old and I am just now getting around to it...go figure! Anyways, Olivia arrived on monday October 13th at 5:42 pm. She was 7lbs 11oz and 19 1/4 in. long. At 5am that morning the hospital called and said that my doctor was sick and would not be working that day (she had called my phone the night before, i just didn't know it) so my options were to wait until wednesday or go in that day and have one of her partners be there for the delivery. After having a meltdown i decided that i was ready for her to be here and I was just going to have to deal with some stranger delivering her. So we got to the hospital and they broke my water around 7am. This is the weirdest feeling EVER, nothing like feeling like you are peeing on yourself. After this it was all kind of a blur but I think around 9am they started pitocin. Pretty soon after that family and friends started showing up and we had a room full of people. (I'm sure the nurse thought we were crazy but Eric were thankful they were all there and we agreed that having everyone there made the day go by much faster. So thanks to everyone who was there, we apprecitate it.) I was in no pain at all until this point but when they started the pitocin it was a different story. I tried to hold off on getting an epidural for as long as possible but around 11:30 or so I had had enough and i was ready for my epidural. (I never thought I would be so happy about having a huge needle stuck in my back) At about 4:45 it was time to get the show on the road and after an hour or so of pushing our sweet Olivia was born.

Here are some pictures of her room

I am going to try and keep this thing updated and post lots of pictures so keep checking in on us.
